70% of young people report witnessing bullying in their schools. However, when upstanders take action, bullying stops within 10 seconds 57% of the time. Through the EMPOWER Leadership Workshop, students engage in small and large group interactive discussions and activities designed to increase empathetic understanding of bullying-related issues and develop leadership skills required to be an upstander. After attending the workshop, students are empowered to Be Megan’s Voice…Be the Change and develop and implement an action plan in their own schools.
