About Tina Meier
Tina Meier grew up in St. Charles, Missouri, and graduated from St. Charles West High School in 1988. Tina’s firstborn child, Megan, came into the world on November 6, 1992, and her second daughter, Allison, was born on May 31, 1996. Her life was complete.
Everything changed on October 16, 2006, when Tina’s 13-year-old daughter, Megan Taylor Meier, took her own life after being cyberbullied by an adult neighbor posing as a fictitious boy named “Josh Evans” on MySpace.
Tina made it her mission to prevent such tragedies and to help children and families affected by bullying and cyberbullying. In December of 2007, Tina’s Aunt Vicki gave her the first $100.00 to open the Megan Meier Foundation’s bank account and apply for 501(c)(3) status.
Tina’s first school presentation on behalf of the Megan Meier Foundation was on December 20, 2007, to over 900 middle school students. Tina’s passion is stronger than ever. With the support of staff members, volunteers, her family, and close friends, the Foundation has reached over 611,000 students, parents, educators, and professionals across the United States.
